Recently a South Korean gaming news website, HungryApps discovered that Tree of Savior Intellectual Property trademark registration contains Tree of Savior services for mobile and consoles. This confirms the intention of Tree of Savior on smartphones discussed during the interview with Andronicus and imcGAMES business staffs in G-Star 2014

imcGAMES applied a patent for the trademark of ‘TREE of SAVIOR’ with the BKL Intellectual Property Group as its legal agent on July 17 last year, and completed its registration recently on June 16 this year.

A notable point is that the content of trademark description/class of good of trademark rights included not only computer online game but also some portion of mobile game services via wireless internet and consoles such as video game cartridge.

Of course, this trademark registration is to protect the Tree of Savior Intellectual Property. However, this can also be a strategic move to enter the growing mobile gaming market in South Korea.

Meanwhile, NCSoft took full advantage of the mobile platform for their upcoming game “Lineage Eternal”. Lineage Eternal supports both PC and mobile platform and gameplay both services are linked together.
