Since the beginning of Tree of Savior project in 2009, many things have happened. Our website’s Tree of Savior timeline records all the important announcements and updates about the game. Out of 31 events (at the time of writing), 26 or 86% of all the events happened in 2014. There is no doubt that 2014 is the most fruitful year yet for Tree of Savior.

The Birth of Tree of Savior
Tree of Savior started 2014 with a blast after Kim Hakkyu unexpectedly revealed Tree of Savior gameplay video in G-Star Gaming Expo 2013. This announcement has sparked a massive interest about the game in November 2013.
On Valentine’s Day in 2014, imcGAMES announced the first Focus Group Test (FGT). This test is conducted in imcGAMES’ studio and only South Koreans are invited for the test. The FGT was held on Feb 25, Mar 4, Mar 11 and Mar 18.
The Beginning of the Hype
The TOS hype started on April 30, 2014 when imcGAMES published information about Tree of Savior in the official TOS Blog. However, it is only in Korean language. The English blog started in May 13. A few people, mainly SyKim, Community Manager Leslie and Hebrew Young managed the TOS Blog. The blog accepted interview from Inven (Korean Gaming website) and occasionally CM Leslie would interview some of the staffs in imcGAMES about the development progress and the art director, Maggi.
SyKim on the other hand answered Q&As from the fans and wrote up to 13 Q&As. The last Q&A article was on August 23, 2014. CM Leslie posted the last article about TOS play report and the blog goes into hiatus on September 5, 2014.
The Calm before the Storm
While imcGAMES developers focused on the development of Tree of Savior for Closed Beta Testing (CBT), fans were fed with pre-CBT patch notes published once every few days on the official website. The patch notes started on Sept 23 – Nov 24, 2015.
On November 7, TreeofSaviorGame.com (fansite) uncovered imcGAMES’ attendance to G-Star 2014. A week later, imcGAMES announced their publisher, Nexon Korea who will be responsible for the marketing aspect of Tree of Savior in Korea. imcGAMES will still be handling and developing Tree of Savior.
At the end of autumn, imcGAMES released the second Tree of Savior trailer in G-Star 2014. The large artwall presented in the Nexon booth in G-Star 2014 revealed 10 new classes. On the third day of G-Star 2014, imcGAMES received Best Online Games and Best Gaming Art Award for Tree of Savior.
The G-Star 2014 Gaming Expo ended with four interviews by various parties around the world (sorted by date):

Half a month later on December 11, imcGAMES released the first ever Tree of Savior BGM in the Nexon TOS website.
The date written in the video shows the date imcGAMES will release the information about Closed Beta Testing. While waiting for December 22, a website in Korea discovered that TOS trademark rights include mobile and console platforms.
On December 22, the Nexon TOS website is officially live with second TOS BGM and information about Closed Beta Testing.
It is still uncertain which company did both the BGMs revealed so far.
All the translated information regarding the CBT is available in this article. Registration for CBT has begun on Dec 29, 2014. The recruitment will run all the way until Jan 11, 2015. The participants are chosen via lottery and will be announced in the website on Jan 14, 2015. Tree of Savior First Closed Beta Testing will start on the January 15th, 2015.
2015 has been an adventurous year for many Tree of Savior fans who were eagerly waiting for Tree of Savior. We are all looking forward to 2015 where we will be expecting more gameplays and possibly Open Beta Testing announcements.
