On G-STAR 2014 day three, I was honored to be able to meet up with two business staffs from imcGAMES. We discussed about many things, where we came from, imcGAMES, Tree of Savior communities and Tree of Savior game. It was a casual meeting and the discussions were mostly centered towards building trust and relationship with imcGAMES.
They like to remain anonymous and I have respected their decisions not to reveal their names or their photos. All I can say is we met at the Shinsegae department store to have clay pot bulgogi for lunch and had coffee to keep ourselves awake for the question and answer session.

I had many questions prepared for Tree of Savior gameplay. However, because the staffs participated in the lunch meeting are from the business department in imcGAMES, we have decided to skip the gameplay questions entirely.
Questions & Answers
Andronicus:
TreeofSaviorGame.com and other Tree of Savior communities have posted many articles and videos online. Are you guys aware of it and are you reading these websites?
imcGAMES:
Yes, we do read the communities’ websites. We read Andronicus’ website, TOS Brazil and TOS Thailand.
(When asked whether they have a translator to translate Portuguese and Thai)
No, we use Google Translate.
Andronicus:
Are you aware of any Philippines Tree of Savior communities? I know that there are many Ragnarok Online fans there.
imcGAMES:
At the moment we haven’t had anybody from Philippines approached us yet. However we will direct them to your website if they approach us.
Andronicus:
Any plans to release Tree of Savior in consoles? PlayStation4, Xbox etc?
imcGAMES:
Not at the moment but in the future we may developer Tree of Savior for mobile.

Andronicus:
What took imcGAMES so long to make an announcement for G-Star 2014?
imcGAMES:
The partnership with Nexon was late that is why we were late to announce our participation
Andronicus:
How was G-Star 2014? How many publishers showed interest in Tree of Savior?
imcGAMES:
Many publishers from all parts of the world approached us. Most of them are the leading publishers of their respective countries. We have collaborated with some publishers in Asia. However, outside of Asia, we are still open for partnership. When we get back to our office, we will have to discuss how we can penetrate into other countries.
Andronicus:
Is Tree of Savior going to be regional-based or country-based?
imcGAMES:
Countries which we have partnership in will be country based. As for other countries that we have yet to find a publisher, we are actually thinking of launching the game ourselves for those countries. However, this is still a plan and is not a final decision.
Andronicus:
So you are saying that the first Closed Beta Testing will be Korea only. However, imcGAMES do have plans to launch a second, international Closed Beta Testing. But it is not a finalized decision?
imcGAMES:
Correct.
Andronicus:
Have imcGAMES decided on which payment model to go with?
imcGAMES:
Payment model has not been confirmed yet. However, we are leaning towards Free to Play and Tree of Savior will have cash shop. We are constantly reading feedback from the community to maintain a balance with cash shop.
Andronicus:
Are you satisfied with the amount of people interested in Tree of Savior? Do you think there will be a big player base when you launch the server?
imcGAMES:
We know a lot of people are interested in Tree of Savior. However, I cannot answer your question now. We need to look at the Closed Beta Testing results. First Closed Beta Testing will be conducted in Korea. For international CBT, as I said earlier, we have plans to launch it ourselves but it is not been decided yet.
Andronicus:
Any chance of Tree of Savior becoming eSports?
imcGAMES:
We have PVP content in the game. However, I don’t know whether it will be suitable for eSports or not. We will see how the players react to our PVP system.
Andronicus:
What happened to your previous partnership with NHN Entertainment?
imcGAMES:
NHN and Naver used to be the same company, however, they separated while Tree of Savior was still in its early days of development. To avoid the uncertainties from the separation, we have initiated to nullify the contract with NHN Entertainment.
Andronicus:
In Korea, imcGAMES will manage Tree of Savior. Who will manage the game in the countries that you have partnered with? If they are managing it, do you think Pay to Win will be an issue?
imcGAMES:
Tree of Savior will be managed by the respective countries’ publishers. As for Pay to Win, publisher and developer’s opinions will be discussed to achieve an optimized solution.
Andronicus:
In the Brazil community, there was a petition that has about 1300 signatures about LEVELUP. Any comment on that?
imcGAMES:
I think it is important to understand why this petition is initiated in the first place. We will try to understand why he is doing this petition to get a clearer picture of this issue.
Even in NEXON Korea, many Koreans gave negative feedback on Nexon. I feel that it is the same case. However, we will find the underlying cause of this issue.
Andronicus:
Has anything changed since the last blog update?
imcGAMES:
Many things has changed in terms of features and balance since the last blog update. Tree of Savior is constantly changing because it is constantly being developed.
Also, after CBT, we have plans to re-evaluate the features in the game. We will add or remove features and balance Tree of Savior after CBT.
Andronicus:
Normally who does the translation for the games? Is it the publishers’ responsibility?
imcGAMES:
For the publishers that we have partnered with, they will do it. If we launch the game ourselves, we will do the translations.
(When asked whether native language suggestion is still an option)
We are still thinking whether to receive suggestion from gamers in terms of translation for international release. This has not been decided yet.
Andronicus:
What about Character voice? Will it be dubbed into their native languages?
imcGAMES:
Respective publishers will have to do the voice translation themselves. For international release, we have to think about it.
Andronicus:
Why do boss monsters kill their own minions in trailers?
imcGAMES:
Before the boss quest, there was a previous quest. Those minions fail to destroy the player’s character, so the boss got mad and killed them.
Andronicus:
In today’s game, it is hard to find reason to play beyond PVP in endgame. What content can be expected for advanced players?
imcGAMES:
In our internal testing of Tree of Savior game, there isn’t a limit on how far players can level up. We also have not specified max level in our internal test servers. However, this could change when we launch CBT.
Andronicus:
How will imcGAMES deal with bots and hackers?
imcGAMES:
We will try our best to deal with them.
Andronicus:
Is there anything else that you would like to tell to Tree of Savior fans worldwide?
imcGAMES:
We will try our best to satisfy fan’s expectations. We will try our best to launch a great game.
